Almost everything here is either a substantial new build or a deep remodel. That is the best possible position to be in: containment, speaker positions and rack space get drawn once, the electrician runs to a marked-up layout, and nothing has to be chased into finished plaster later.
The briefs are ambitious and usually properly specified. Dedicated cinema rooms with acoustic treatment and Trinnov processing, whole-house audio, lighting on keypads, gates and cameras, plant rooms with a real rack in them. Interior designers are typically involved, which suits us — we would rather hide equipment than display it.
The distance is the honest caveat. We are just under an hour away, which is fine for design, install and commissioning, and means support here is next working day rather than same day. Most clients would rather have the team who drew it come back than a local subcontractor who did not.
