Certified means the programming never leaves the building.
Control4 restricts who can buy, program and commission the platform, and we are on that list. The practical difference is small and matters enormously: the Composer Pro file for your house is written here, by the engineer who walked the rooms, and it is documented so that changing something later is a conversation rather than an archaeology project.
- Composer Pro programming done in house, never subcontracted.
- Project file documented and held for you, not locked in a drawer.
- 4Sight for your remote access, OvrC for our remote monitoring.
- The engineer who wrote the logic is the one who answers the phone.
We have inherited enough orphaned systems to know what the alternative looks like. A house full of good hardware nobody can change is worse than a simpler system somebody understands.
Houses running Control4.
The platform that made whole-house control ordinary.
Control4 was founded in Utah in 2003 and launched at CEDIA the following year, early enough to shape what people now expect a smart home to do. It grew by absorbing the parts it needed: Pakedge for networking, Triad for audio, Ihiji for remote monitoring, then a merger with SnapAV in 2019.
Since June 2024 the brand has belonged to Resideo and sits within ADI Global Distribution. Day to day that changes nothing about the platform: more than half a million homes run on it, in over a hundred countries, and it speaks to something north of thirteen thousand third-party products.
The hardware we specify.
Sized to the house rather than to a package. This is the shortlist most projects are built from.
What drives the cost.
Very little of a Control4 price is the Control4 hardware. It is the number of systems brought under control, the state of the building, and the programming and testing time that follows.
How many systems come under control
Each system added brings hardware, and more significantly programming and testing. Lighting and audio is a straightforward first step. Adding shading, climate, security and access is where the hours go.
New build or retrofit
A house at first fix takes wired control throughout and prices efficiently. A finished house takes a wireless mix, which costs more per point and takes longer to commission.
Control4, KNX, or both
Control4 is quicker to deploy and superb for AV. KNX costs more up front and answers to no single vendor. Plenty of our projects run KNX for the building services and Control4 over the top for AV.
Indicative only. A design visit produces a fixed price.

Not on the list? Ask anyway. Plenty of our work sits outside the towns above, and a five-minute phone call will tell you whether we are the right people for it.

Let us look at the house.
We visit, listen, measure, and come back with drawings and a fixed price. If another platform suits the house better, we will tell you that too.
